Did you reverse your alternator and starter power wires? This would blow the alt fuse and cause the engine to either not turn over or barely turn over.

I didnt say your alternator was bad, I said that you reversed the power wires to the starter and alternator. Therefore when you tried to turn over the engine, the power was sent to the alternator instead of the ECU. This causes you to blow one of the big fuses in the fuse box (75 amp or something). This could account for smoke if its near the fuse box in the engine bay.

The alternator fuse is located in the passenger side engine fuse box. I cant remember exactly what the fuse is called off the top of my head, but just check to see that none of them are blown and you should be good.

Check the plastic power isoltaor on your alternator if its loose your grounding the thick white power wire to the alternators body when you hook it up. (Its the plastic ring around the bolt sticking out of the back of your alternator where that white wire goes.

Plug is good..Could not having the ground on my hatch hooked up cause this...im going to ground it now and i doubt thats the problem but we will see. I also found out what was smoking and it was my SS clutch line =S...burned right through the inside and now theres clutch fluid all over. I think i burned everything off of it because it dosent smoke anymore..im SO lost on this.

Ok ive discoverd 2 black wires wich arent hooked up....one coming from the starter harness..and the other from the alternator harness...both with loops on the end...any ideas where these would go? test them aswell with my multi meter and nothing...i also tried ground both to the car and nothing aswell

Ok so the car now starts...but for the first while if only on light throttle the car would sputter at 2k rpm..and under full throttle it would go but the power didnt seem to really be there..now when i start the car and lightly bring the revs up in neutral it does the same thing little sputtering and wont go past 2k rpm unless i stepp on the gas all the way...then under load if i try to boost it just sputters and wants to die and if i let off the throttle it still wants to die and dosent idle properly unless i shut the car off and start it again. Also if i try to boost and then let it idle and the idle is really rough i get black/grey smoke out of the exhaust and after a while it started to smoke more grey/white...any ideas on what this could be?...
