im buying an s13 with a ca18det swap sunday and i need to know whats the deal

the car cranks 1st try and idles perfectly no knocks or ticksbut when you try to acutally give the car gas it dies immediatelyyou cant even ease into the throttle it just shuts off???

the previous owner spliced together the wiring harness but he has a new one for me to put in. Could this be the issue?

WTFFFFFF!!!!! ANYONE KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE??
