Guys See if you can help me...This is a fairly simple fix as I see it but I wanted your input. Yesterday I was cruising at normal speeds and when I get to my cousins housethe car starts smoking from the engine, I figured out that it wasnt smoke but merely a hole in the tube that is connected to the radiator. as seen before I indicate where the hole is located...

Is it necessary for me to replace the whole tube or can I get some kind of sealant for it. Any Ideas Guys please help!!!

P.S. Sorry for the crude work

If I were you, I'd check the classifieds section for people parting out S13's. You should be able to get replacement for that piece very cheap.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with a patch or seal simply because of the climate factors on that area. It's hot fluid running through there, and that's not very condusive to a patch or seal. I know there are products out there that will most likely work... but I think you can get a replacement piece much easier than the time and money involved in repairing it.

As for the coolant overflow tank... That hole shouldn't cause overheating issues... If you do overheat and you get a lot of flow into the tank, you might leak some out.. then when it releases back into the system, you might be low on fluid. You can watch for a spare tank, or you can get an aftermarket one at napa, etc...

I bought a new OEM Koyo replacement radiator off of eBay for about $125 shipped. It looks just like the OEM one that comes out...and it does have the transmisson cooler hook-ups too (but I don't need those now). I just looked on eBay to add a link but don't see one on there now. I would just get a new one unless you can get a used one dirt cheap.

Thanks for the help man, I will keep an eye out for that part. But do you know of anything that I can use for a quick fix because I use it as my Daily Driver and I need it to get around. that would be just for now though, but thanks for your help Eikon

I'd rather fix it right. I don't think it's that expensive. It's one of those maintenance parts that you have to replace at some point. Just go to aftermarket parts store and get a new one. After that you don't have to worry about another 10 years. I think that hose is old, so it can't take the hot coolant anymore. Used one or any fix will break soon. You know what I mean... Regarding quick fix, permatex sealant might work since it doesn't get affected by heat. But I'm not sure...

or you could use JB Weld as a quick fix. It's a cold weld that comes in a two part mix...just mix equal amounts and apply to clean dry surface. This stuff has mended cracks in engine blocks...so I think it will work for you...costs about $4 to $5 and you can get it at any NAPA or local auto parts store. Good luck.
