Help! Burned S14 Sr20det Mine's ECU buy new one or keep using the old one

What the hell did that nasty white goop used to be? You should look for the cause of the ecu burnout before you buy another one because you'll probably burn tha one too. Does that ecu still function (hows your car work).

My car isn't running unfortunately. I brought it to a mechanic and he looked at the car, couldn't find out why it didn't want to start. So he popped open the ecu and looked at it, and said it was "burned".

He isn't familiar with aftermarket parts, but it probably isn't hard to tell from "burned" and not burned. However, I do wanna make sure that it is the ECU that is broken before buying another one.

The car kicks at random times, but it doesn't seem to want to fire. Could this be an ECU problem? About that white goop, heres a link, it seems Mine's ECU all has them.
