Hi all,

First time posting, but I've been lurking for quite some time now...Need some advice as what is the best way to go about either repairing a front bumper of a 08 G37 Journey Coupe in OB or finding a replacement somewhere...

So after having a night out on the town on Saturday, I come back to my parking spot to find that someone left me a nice present. I can only assume that an SUV or some car that is higher than the G, backed into it while pulling in or out of the spot in front. I took it to a local shop and they quoted me at $300, for pulling out the dent and repainting the whole front bumper.

Can anyone advise how to post photos? It doesn't really look that horrible right now, but the best way I can describe the damage is that it looks like someone folded a crease into the bumper and that the paint is a bit crinkled.

If anyone can advise whats the best route to go...should I get a new bumper since this is a leased car? Maybe try to find one off of the forums if anyone is selling an OEM bumper? Or is $300 a fair price for the work that needs to be done? Any help is needed, thanks alot in advance!

Welcome to NICO and sorry to hear what happened

$300 is a VERY good price (at least around here anyways) I would just go that route. No need to buy a brand new bumper. Unless of course they REALLy smashed into her and there is more damage then what's just visible.

To post pics look at the link in my sig...I use Photobucket.

Again...welcome to NICO!

$300 is cheap! Are they taking it off the car, fixing it, painting it, baking it??

had my cobra bumper done several years ago (no dent) and it was around $450

yeah they quoted it at $300 for taking it off, getting that dent out and repainting the whole thing. they told me that it wouldn't look completely perfect, but unless you had an eye for it or knew about it, it wouldn't be noticeable.

Ummm ok...what do they mean by not "completley perfect"??

The paint difference of the dent??

Is this a reputable shop??

Is that $300 cash and no receipt?

This shop is owned by a mutual friend. He did a lot of the work on my buddy's 240 and the work is good.

What he stated was that it won't look exactly the same as the other side of the front bumper (the undamaged side). It would be cash, but the shop guarantees their work.

My car was backed into another car by a mechanic and it folded in the passenger corner of the rear bumper. They popped it out and heat treated it so it would reform (or something like that) and refinished it. Can't even tell anything happened to it. I think that was about $400-500.

I also had my front bumper backed into by a SUV with a trailer hitch, punctured the front bumper. Got a brand new bumper painted for about $900.
