HELP!! Brake light won't go off??

Noticed my brake light coming on and staying on for the most recent of times. Took it to a local shop and they told me that they were stumped with the issue. Please tell me they were idiots and there is a simple solution.

Make sure your brake fluid reservoir is at the "MAX" line and the sensor's wiring harness is plugged in and the wiring is intact. Also check that the parking brake is completely disengaged; if so, the parking brake switch may be faulty.

Brake fluid is topped off. I'll check my sensor, that or the parking brake switch may be my problem. Thanks!

I got my cvt fluid changed at the dealer the other day and they asked if my brake light came on and wouldnt go away. I said no (because mine doesnt) but maybe theirs a service bulletin for it or something. Call your local dealer and ask if they have a service bulletin for it. If they do, it's something they'll probably fix for free.

Indeed there was. I received mail from Nissan couple days ago saying something about the brake light and to bring it in. They'll fix it for you

I had the same problem a while back. Turned out the master cylinder went bad. Covered under basic warranty.

yup there was a recall the dealer asked me same thing yesterday matter of fact....

Awesome! Just called local dealer here. Go figure, pulled the TSB of of AllData.

me too..i just cut the wire and plced black tape over the light just incse it comes on again...
