what if you dont have heat..jeff420 wrote:i dont see how ppl have a problem doing this, i NEVER have problems. one member on here posted a nice way of doing it, using their words "POUR SLOWLY".
the way i do mine id i have one of those small gatorade bottles i cut the bottom of it off. the cap end (with cap removed of course) fits right into my radiator perfectly. i pour coolant in until its full and pour some more in so the gatorade bottle has some in it, then i start the car and if i need to add more, i add more. while the engine is running and the heater is on full blast i squeeze both upper and lower radiator hoses ensureing any air bubbles still in there get dislodged.
btw search. theres many threads on this topic.

ok so i did what i think to believe the proper method of bleeding and the only time the temp spikes is now when i do spirted driving. like shifting at 4-5k.checked for leaks none. its def not a headgasket as for no smoking if it was the water pump it would be leaking so.....bad cap maybeOutToWinPAHC wrote:take a jack lift the front slightly.take radiator cap out.take bleed screw offtake a 2 liter pepsi bottle cut it in halftake some black electrical tape and wrap the bottle neck a littleflip it around and place the bottle neck were the radiator cap was at.have somebody start the carturn on the heaternow start filling it with coolantclose bleed screw after you get a nice even stream of coolantadd antifreeze until you over fill the rad by a quartlet the engine run after 3 minutes the thermostat will open and suck in the exess antifreezefill it again but with about a half of quart.let it run until no more bubbles come out.replace cap and enjoy

Just get a coolanbt funnel and new cap, fill the funnel 3/4 and keep squeezing the lower and upper hoses and burp it all out. Then bleed it.
If you keep getting air into the system, then there is an issue.
i think bleeding is done. the only problem i see is random temperature spikes when i driving fast. you guys think i might have some air trapted somewhere?Harman850T5 wrote:There is a spill free funnel kit for about $30 you can get from Matco, Mac, or Snap On, that really helps with bleeding the cooling system. It uses the same principle as the gatorade bottle, but it comes with adapters to mount the jug to the radiator or even the overflow tank in some instances.
It also helps to squeeze the hoses being careful of not catching your arm on the fan, and reving the car up to speed up coolant flow.
yes its was on top. Ive left my car idling for the last 15 mins but i put back the cap and screw about 8 mins ago should i take em off and go a full 30 mins. car hasnt overheaded or anything but that air in the cabin is notiable hotter than before i changed the thermostat. (maybe i should take her out for another quick drive)OutToWinPAHC wrote:Did you install the Tstat correctly? Little hole to the top?
hey thanks bunches for the help ill let it cool down then give it a go again...ill report back later with an updateOutToWinPAHC wrote:No s*** it off, let it cool down, then check to level and burp it again. It might need a pinch.
