Hey all, I got a 1987 4dr Nissan Stanza sedan for free a few days ago. I performed a tune-up on it, battery...oil change...spark plugs...new wires, so on. When I tried to crank it over it wouldn't start, of course, so I started looking for problems.
The first thing I noticed was that the fuel pump was not turning on. So I removed the back seats, got the fuel pump out, and tested it for power. Here's the catch, it has power, and the wires going to it have power, but when you connect the fuel pump it gets NO power. So I started checking for power issues, and I found the problem. In the hood, near the back of the engine, left side, there is a wiring harness. EVERY wire is completely fried. So I thought, wow what an easy fix...just gonna find where the wire is good, and re-wire it from there, right? WRONG.
In order to get that wiring harness out, I believe I must remove the dash, which is impossible, and I just can not find out how to get that damn thing out, or even find out where it starts. Can someone help, because I'm about to sell this car and buy something worth me time.
