I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that you'll need bags for the rear and an air management system. Something like two 3 gallon air tanks or one 5 gallon tank can go in the trunk.

That thread should have more info.

Why not buy the plug and play one that jmai86 is selling?

$1200 sound good.

For $1,200, one can do a fairly decent job of rehabilitating ans standard G50 suspension and have a very well handling car if the brakes and tires are up to snuff.

Naaaaah, that would be too easy!

Well, I'm in favor of this project because I want to see the effect on ride/handling. Good luck!

So you aren't going to replace the spring, just add bags as helpers? Or is the idea to go full air? Just curious. Looks like helpers.

There's a video of an air ride test drive somewhere on youtub,I'll try and find it tonight. It shows the car going around cones and everything.Pretty much looked like how the Q45a handles. So it'd probably be better but remember also depends on brand and stuff.Good luck. Can't wait to see it.

You will need 4 universal air aerosport bags. the required valves probably 8 for front back side side adjustment, along with all the fittings and air line. probably 2 compressors although you can get away with one, a switch box, and some experience with wiring and minor fabrication. Or a good installer.

It appears by your questions that you are a little new to this level of modification, but you could probably do it yourself since using the aerosport bags effectively limits the amount of fabrication you'll have to do. But you should have some good and I'll venture to say extensive wrench turning experience before you try this one.

you're right the bags do slide over the stock shocks however, you may have to modify or weld brackets to the shock body in order to have the bags seat properly to prevent leaks or bag failure.

I'm about to install air on my y33. I've converted the front suspension to s14 components and I'm running NISMO coilovers with bags for a dampening adjustable bagover suspension.

The Q45A used weaker [~~ 75%] springs fore and aft to reduce the HP required to manage the body weight. That way during a system failure the body would drop ~~ 3-4" but still be drivable.........slowly to the shop.

With these 108/88 springs vs 146/123 springs the airbags [whatever] only have to statically support much less and thus will live longer and be more trouble free.

whatever kind you consider where the hub is not attached to the strut. A mcpherson strut the hub is attached to the strut assembly and the whole thing turns on a bearing up top.

So i guess the G50 has the "other kind"
