Maybe your led strips just drained your car battery.

That ^....plus you may have blown a fuse. Did you disconnect the battery while wiring? Sometimes the electricity will ark if you accidentally tap the neg batt wire on the contact while taking it off or putting it on. hope that helps

just wondering, how could it drain his battery if his car wasn't on?wouldn't his running lights have to be on for it to drain?

Your car doesn't have to be on for the parking lights to be on. If you had your parking lights on and then left the car they will stay on. But it also makes that super annoying buzzing sound to let you know that the lights are on.

Yesterday I had my lights on auto and was driving around. I parked and took a nap in the backseat. Woke up and the lights were still on. I turned them off and a few minutes later tried to turn on my car. It wasn't happening. I thought the lights would turn off after I turned my car off but I guess the door needs to be opened then closed.

But from what you're telling me it definitely sounds like a blown fuse, but if all your fuses are fine then I have no idea

Have you looked at the fuse box above the hood latch inside the car?

This is the block diagram lighting schematic for that particular circuit for the Altima Coupe from the field service manual.

The wiring goes from the stalk switch, to the body control module, to the tail lamp relay, then to each individual light. Pretty simple circuit. Now, if all 4 of those items aren't working, then you have a problem before those 4 points. Either the relay, or BCM. The combination switch wouldn't be affected by something like this.

Now, from what I've read, you said the tail lights still work like normal, which would mean the switch, bcm, and relay are all working correctly. I believe your breakdown is a wiring malfunction. What did you actually do when you tried to wire in these lights? You just used a wire tap right?

Here's something I want you to do. Check all 4 of those lighting points off the relay, make sure they are work correctly (besides the front parking lights of course).

Also, hit the emergency signal button above the radio. Let me know what lights work with that actuated. Hopefully we can figure this out without involving Nissan just yet.

maybe you should show him how you taped the wireshe thinks its a wiring malfunction so maye it'll give him insight to what might have happened wrong

Open your hood, stand outside the car with the driver window down. Flip the parking light switch on the stalk on, so just the parking lights come on. Confirm for me that you here the relay clicking in the relay box directly behind the drivers side headlight.

ok so one side is wired like such...i cant think of the name of the clip but u just run the wire through the clip and insert the LED light wire through it as well and it forms a connection...my dad is an electrician and he did it...i also tried to just cut the wire and tap into it and twist the three wires back together and cap it and see if that worked but no it didnt...

Disconnect all that mess and put the wiring back together like stock. Does the problem continue? I just wanna make sure your not grounding out anything.

I've got to get up for work in 5 hours dude. We can work more on this tomorrow.

it looks like u used 2x self taps on each side- better than what i did lol- i just split the car wires a lil bit, and wrapped another wire over my area for max conductivity and electrical taped it. then pulled the wires to the lights.

what are the power wires coming from, is there a relay installed for the parks, or is it directly connected to the p.light wires? i hot wired mine when i did my retrofit so theres a few ways u can do it and still not screw it up lol

the parking lights wouldnt kill ur battery because of what adidas said- plus they wont be on unless the stalk is on, so that means somethin screwed up lol maybe the ground or maybe the wires arent connected as well?

like- when i did my retrofit, i took out the amber, and did my 6 LED's in there... but then i also have my halos an such- so i wired up the LED's and stuck them in the hole that the bulb clips attatch into lol- as for my turn signal tho- i kept the bulb so theres that purple and green wire- i tap'd into that basically by splicing the plastic, and gently tugging so i got an open area to work with the bare wire, then attatched my other LED's to that. then sealed w/ electrical tape lol
