Help!!!! Automatic Transmission problem

just bought 95 240sx se with 125,000 miles . runs great forward but no reverse. I can throw the shifter into reverse but seems like neutral. I do notice a shift in rpm when put into reverse. Can anyone help?

check the trans fluid condition. does it smell burnt? does if have fiber particles aor metal particles in it? did it have reverse when you bought it? does it look like it may have been flushed prior to you buying it? ... sounds like you need a trans or overhaul at this point.

when you check the trans fluid if it is milky check the trans coller might have a cooling problem

having worked on nissans for a few years now and being a nissan master tech i have never seen a trans cooler failure other than clogging due to internal trans failures.
