I've been searching for all day and i can't find out what's wrong with my SR. Everything is done with my swap but i'm having idling problems and tends to lend and then run rich. I have 98 Automatic SR20DET from S14 converted over to 5spd. my car is an S13 which was also automatic that we've converted to 5spd but that's not the problem I think. It has to do with SR being originally Automatic. I've tired different ECU's from different S14 SR's and still has not fix the problem. We looked and double check the wiring, the vacuums, fuel lines, etc... and still nothing. The only thing that's not OEM/Stock is the Front mount intercooler and custom piping. What should I do? Anybody know what could be the problem? And has anybody done S14 SR auto to 5spd?

also in general what would you have to do to convert any SR in general (red top, black top,....) from automatic to 5spd???i know the TPS needs to be from a manual but what else?

We have no less than at least 3 articles on converting an auto to a 5 speed on NICO.

did you already convert the TPS to a manual version? The stumbling idle could be from an improperly positioned TPS, as could the rich condition.

MY CAR IS 5spd BUT THE MOTOR WAS AUTOMATIC. I'm not converting the car to manual im trying to convert the motor to manual. It's weird you know how SR's redline at 7,500rpm's well mine redlines at 7,000rpm's.

I'm saying take a look at our articles as it may help you out in getting the motor running right.

You also didn't answer my question. When you put the manual TPS on, did you check to make sure it was properly installed on the throttle body. An improperly positioned sensor will give funny readings and cause a stumbly idle as well as driveability issues.

The stock redline is closer to 7200. It's a moot point given that your car isn't running right, so I don't know why you're running it up to redline. Redlining isn't recommended even on a normal running car.

Since this is an S14 motor, I would double check that all of your wiring for the VTC is done correctly. I could see the VTC frakking with the base timing, causing some of your issues.
