I recently replaced the head on my ka24e after bending valves and put everything back together. The car will start but only if i step on the gas. It sounds like a lawn mower, leaks coolant out of the oil pan, and as soon as i let off the gas the car dies. Please help me i need the car at 1 oclock and its now 11!

THanx!

The car sputters when running which im thinking may be timing issue? Maybe the shaft comming from the oil pump to the distrib is 180 off?

The coolant in the oil im lost? Brand new gaskets for everything torqued everything to specs....im lost

If you have coolant in your oil there is only 2 things on you car I can think of that would cause that. Either your head gasket got damaged during install or you chain ate through the front cover into the cooling jacket.

Thankyou for the reply. It turns out i dont make a very good mechanic when working on cars with little kids watching and running over my ankles with their bikes...

I forgot to put on the gasket for the intake manifold...the coolant was comming from that and dripping down the side of the block but looked like it was dripping out of the oil pan. Timing was a tad bit off as well.. I fixed both of these and it runs like a champ!

Thankyou for the help though!
