hey, so this time I faced a stereo problem:( Several days ago, my 93 240sx didnt start, I tried jumpstart first. But it seems I did it in a wrong way, I connected positive to positive, NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE. Later I realized that I should put one negative to ground. ok, the jumpstart didnt help, so I sent it to garage. They replaced a new starter and also recharged the battery. The car was fixed.Immediately, I found the stereo system doesnt work, it seems the radio is working while no sound is heard, and CD player doesnt workd well also, always show"no title" in the LCD. The garage guy replaced fuse in the amp twice, all popped out. They told me the amp is either too old or was damaged during jumpstart.

so how do you guys think? which would be the major reason to this problem? and~~ will that help if I replace a new amplifier? Thanks all!

Sounds like you burnt a power supply in the amp.

If your amp has fuses, then they would pop before it was damaged. Did you install the stereo? Check all power source fuses, and maybe the remote signal. If the amp is blowing a fuse right when you try to turn it on it is arcing or shorting somewhere. But if the amp is old or a cheap POS, then just get a good new amp. And next time, post in the audio section, this is not very technical.
