HELP! Air bag system problem.

I bought a new '08 350Z at the end of Nov. Shortly after buying it i noticed that when my wife sits in the pasenger seat that the passenger airbag light would come on saying that the airbag was off. I took it to a Nissan dealer and they found a code but could not retrive it so they replaced the SRS unit and said that should fix it. A week later i noticed the same light on while driving with the wife again. I asked her to move around in the seat to see if that would turn it off and it did not. I took the car to a different dealer to have them check it while i was on the way home from work because they were on the way home. They said that there were no codes in the system and that the passenger airbag system acted funny when a person that wieghs between 130-140 lbs. That just doesn't seem right to me. After that the light still came on. So when I had the oil changed by the dealer that replaced the SRS unit i asked them to check the system again. They did and found no codes also. They called Nissan and told them about my problem and Nissan said that they wuold not replace anything in the car without there being a code in the computer. If anyone knows what is going on with my car please help.

the pass airbag shoud be off when there is no passanger, what happnes when you sit in the passager seat? the sensors shoudl turn the bag odd when the seat is empty a child seat is installed or a small person or child is in the seat as the air bag poses a danger to persons wo are too small, is your wife very petite? it might be turnign off for her protection

No my wife is not very petite. The airbag just turns on and off when it feeles like when she sits in the seat.

in my time working for nissan. the airbag or(srs unit) wouldnt throw a code, the airbag fires when senors are compressed, the srs unit receive the signal in a chain of command which starts with, 1)the sensor being crushed which sends the signal to the 2)airbag control modulewhich lastly fires the airbag this all happens with a split second. if your having problems i would look at the airbag control module check it with a meter maybe there is a split somewhere, if you have power seat maybe the harness is stuck in the track and making intermitent contact with something when your wife moves around, also look at the bcm(body control module) these wreack havoc on nissan techs especialy in altima and maxima where change tends to get stuck in them and cause shorts.........one things for sure man u dont wanna be messing around with airbag and saftey stuff. and if your dealer aint takig the prob seriously i would have a real problem with that........sorry bout punct. and grammer did this off my iphone
