I bought a used 2007 Versa because with a new job I knew I would have a long commute. The car didn't have cruise and part of the deal we made was to have cruise installed. The part was on back order for nearly 3 months, but they finally put it in. When I picked the car up the other night it had a slight bought of transmission hesitation and then it was fine, but the service engine light had come on. I drove it the next day and it was fine. Today I made my trip to work (80 miles) just fine and the cruise worked fine. Then at lunch today I went out after about 2 minutes, the transmission would not get out of 1st gear! I have called the sales guy who I have worked with on this and left a message. Is this bad??? I have now read about cruise controls added to Versas don't always work. Thanks for your help.

That's a crazy situation, never heard of that before. Cruise control, alarm and keyless entry were the top manditory features I wanted in my car, so I got the SL.

Get that settled right away man, that would bug the crap out of me.

It was mandatory for me to have Cruise Control. My bad right knee has been begging me for last 3 years.

You should really get it fixed if it is possible. I heard our cars are pain in the butt when it comes to aftermarket cruise controls.

I have a 2010 Nissan Versa that I bought at ABC Nissan in Phoenix (do yourself a favor, don't buy a car there). I was looking for a manual transmission with the power package but all they had was the manual transmission without the power package. I told them I wanted cruise control and they said they could have a Nissan cruise control installed the next day and that it would be covered by the warranty, I quickly discovered this was a lie but took the car and let them install an aftermarket cruise control. It has been 9 months and now all the sudden I am having problems with the aftermarket cruise, sometimes when I set the cruise my car will completely loose power and the service engine soon light comes on. When the dealer runs the code it comes up with P2122 and P2138, which is apparently interpreted as the car not sensing that my foot is on the petal (by the way it doesn't matter if I actually depress the gas petal with my foot). I have to pull over and shut down the car for a couple minutes, when I restart it runs fine, as long as I don't use the cruise...
