Hi, i want to add a viper 620V LED alarm light to my 2009 Versa S Sedan. Its 12V, comes with 2 wires and some sort of built in resistor on the wire. I wanted to wire it in so that it blinks when the car is off and is off when the car is on. A fake alarm LED.

Can anyone give me exact instructions on how to wire this in, i am a rookie, and a mechanic quoted me $75 bucks! I want to mount it on the lower left dash by the windshield. I was wondering if I have to run a wire directly from the battery or if i can get a powersource from closer. Any help is really appreciated, thanks so much!

The only way I can think of to make it go on and off like that is a relay that is hooked up to an ignition wire so it turns off when the car is turned on.

Hey, my led is a flashing 12v. I was wondering if i could connect the positive wire to the constant 12 volt wire of the radio. And connect the ground wire of the LED to the switched power wire of the radio. When you turn the key off, the switched wire loses power and the LED will find ground through the components inside of the radio. So when you turn the key off, the LED should begin to blink.

Will This work? Is it ok to connect to the 12v constant of the radio, since it is used to store the presets? Thanks for the help

I was planning on setting up mine that way.
