so far i have replaced the radiator and the thermostat and it still overheats, with the acceleration problem i have changed the distributor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, i have had it timed but it still has no power when trying to accelerate. every time i try to drive up this hill at the end of my street it just wants to stall in the middle of the hill. if any one has any ideas i would much appreciate the help.

if you have had it timed correctly and there is no problem with the cooling system, I would tend to think it could be in the valves, but with the no power thing, that lends me to think about poor rings, does it smoke any?

the car doesnt smoke and ive done a compression check and everything was fine. then i found i problem it was a vacuum leak and i got the power back on acceleration but then it started acting again like it use to not make it up the hill on my street with out stalling out then it made it up just fine but when i got to the stop sign at the top it didnt want to go it just stutter.

Check your transmission gear oil and rear end gear oil. I bet its black and thick that’s bad if you’re not a chick in a porno. This is a cheap and easy fix use Castrol.

If your transmission and rear end checks out, did you just rebuild the engine and how long have you had this problem was it gradual or did it happen all at once, more detail please

check your catalitic convetrer. basically just start the car cold and see if it gets extremely fast or red. a cloged cat wil cause those problems you say you have. Unless you live in an extremely cold area just take off your t-statcomletly youll be just fine, and proabably gain some power as well..check for oil in your coolant ar coolant in your oil you might have a bad head gasket

DID you check your gear oil? I’ve seen three 240s with bad gear oil it gets old and becomes very thick. There cars where very sluggish and would OVERHEAT! Just give it a shot.
