OK I was pulling off my stock manifold and the first bolt I pulled off was way easy when I kept going it stapped the stud. I drilled a hole and used anextrator. when I was using the extractor it broke off inside the hole, now I have a case hardend extractor stuck in there. Any suggestions to pull. I asked a machine shop, they said to pull the head, I dont wanna do that! PS I drilled and drilled and no way of getting through the case hardend extractor.

What kind of drill bit are you using?

In order to do that you will probably have to get a very expensive drill. It is diamond tipped made out of some weird titanium metal. We had to do a similar thing after some dude installed my friends headers all wrong and then we had the exact incident happen trying to pull off the headers. But just that one drill bit that we needed cost us like 20 bucks.

If any is sticking out, weld another bolt to it, so you can turn it out with the head. If not (SLOWLY, this time) use a diamond drill to cut into the center of the screw. Tap it left hand thread, and tighten down a left hand bolt into it. Next time, you will want to go more slowly with your screw extractors.

Maybe, you would have to find someone there that knew, and I know how tough that can be. If not a general machine supply of some sort near you will have one.

Got a soldering gun/ welder? Take an old scrw driver or somehting and tack weld it.Any chance of using very small dril bits, and drillign the extractor out. Another idea is to put a notch on the top of it.Then use a flathead screwdriver

A carbide drill bit will go thru the easy out but I wouldnt recomend going that route... Carbide drill bits chip really easily... You will be better off using a rotory grinder with a carbide burr... Even a dremel with a small dental burr will work...

if a but is sticking out or even flush with the head, use a cutting disk and cut a slit down the center of the stud now you can use a flat head screw driver. or a brake rotor screw remover.
