Okay, I need some good ideas for either boy/girl names. I've only found one combo I like so far, and it's for a girl but half the people I tell it to think it'd be too different (Ayasha Grace). Ayasha's cherokee for little one. Any :thinker ? Thank to all in advance that respond...

:)

I meant names on either side. I'm drawing a blank.

I kinda like the trend towards using last names as first names...

Although the whole "naming after a city" is played out. There were FIVE kids named "Austin" on my son's football team. :rolleyes

My friend's daughter's name is Yaminah - I think that's a cool name.

The NICOtots are Hunter, Darian and Saraya.

I'm in the middle of a similar predictament. We've got another bundle of joy on the way and we know it's a girl but our first daughters name was chosen by me and so I've got to chose another name...superstition or some junk. Anyway, my first daughter's name is Amina. No middle name. It means about the same in three languages...Truth. For my second daughter I really wanted to honor some of the great women in my life that have passed on like my best friend, Nemesia Rupal, my grandmother, Annie Muriel, and my aunt Gwendolyn Kaye. The problem is I don't want the responsibility all to myself. I might screw up and name her after an ex-girlfriend or something. This is my contribution to your namehunt.

Name is attitude so you could pick a flat out boys name and give it to a girl. As long as she has the attitude to carry that name she'll be okay. Case in point Jennifer Jason Leigh. Her male name rocks because she wears it like a hot red dress. Why not name your daughter Jason or Michael or something subtle like that? Or maybe change the spelling up a little like my friend Bhillee (Billy). Her mom's a cop so we didn't tease her about her name but you get my point.

I've decided that this name thing is the child's first time actually giving the parent's a headache. They know we're gonna agonize on naming them and they're in that womb loving every minute of it. I should just name her Two and get it over with.

I wish you luck on your search for a name and if I come up with any cosmically balanced, auspicious names that I don't use I'll let you know.

If you like cars name your girl Camber Elise. :) It'll be gold in 9th grade when they do that "what does your name mean" project that everyone does. You can also go with Carerra.

Guy's name? I'd go with Odin or Cid or Gabriel or Loki or Caliper or Bearing or Gauge or something else cool/from a videogame.

Final Fantasy? That's just wrong. That's like naming the kid Silent Hill. Hold up...that's kinda tight.

If any of you name your daughter Camber Elise (or if your wife will even allow it) you will be my hero for life... until I have my daughter then I'll kill you for stealing my daughter's name from me.

cailin is a cool name (my best friends daughter is named cailin)

just don't name the kid anything that rhymes with something stupid.

for instance, my name is Terry, and it rhymes with every freakin thing you can imagine.

my last name is hale, so i am going to name my kids:

Ghoda HaleRasin HaleWutthe Hale andBurnin Hale

or maybe not.

Camber Elise is good.Carerra reminds me too much of a certain p0rn actress.

If it had to be car names, I'd name my son Wankel Rotary. Then I'd name his sister Infiniti.Man, that has a nice sound to it... Infiniti Gulati.

I don't have any specific recommendations for a name, but do have some items you should think about before making a final selection!

1. When considering a name, think about what it might get shortened to (a nickname, for example). If the possibilities are not totally clear, or could lead to funny names, then avoid them. Or start calling the child by your own selected short nickname, so that they go through life with everyone knowing them by that name!

2. Please do not select a name that he/she has to defend (like a boy's name for a girl or vice-versa.) In today's middle and high schools, life is difficult enough, unfortunately, without being picked on for a funny name.

Firstborn is Eve Jasmine, guess that was so much easier cause I knew the gender then (haven't gotten 2nd ultrasound yet). 180crafter, if it were a boy and I named him that, I might doom him to take after his father... LOL... Does Exavier sound funny for a boy's first name?

I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to names.

I feel some convey power when said.

Strong names so to speak.

I have no idea on what to name a girl though...perhaps Erin? (my sister's name)
