First of all hi to everyone as its my first post!
Secondly i was was wondering if peoples in the know with nissan V8's and the manual adapter plates could help me with some of my questions.
Ok so at the moment i current have a Nissan Silvia s13 (i live in Australia) which i have shoehorned an rb30 into like so :
Now don't get me wrong the car is a monster compared to the old standard CA18DET but i still feel there is some thing missing... a couple of cylinders i believe. (and maybe a supercharger but first things first )
Anyways im selling this car and am about to purchase another shell to transplant a heart into and join the ranks of the v8 powered nissans.
So heres where i need some help! I am not sure which engine to get, by that i mean a US Infinti Q45 vh45de or a JDM Nissan president vh45de? So i guess i was wondering what the differences are, if any. Its alot cheaper for me to get a president engine but if there is substantial differences then i would like to get the q45 engine.
Also i have seen bits and pieces around different websites and such about the vh45s having weak plastic timing guides or something along that lines? If this is true how would i go about rectifying the problem?
So now i come to the adapter plates for manual transmissions. I will be using a z32 5 speed (easy to come by here and also have the side mounted starter which i believe will make it easier for me to fab an exhaust) so which adapter plate would be best?
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated
ps: i know there is a search button but i thought instead of going around in circles and still not fully understanding i would ask in a post
