Hi there,

So, I am driving my car yesterday, minding my own business and obey all traffic rules and regulations :) , when all of a suden, the rear right window rolls itself down. After checking the car thoroughly for ghosts and goblins, I hit the button and put the window back up. A little bit later, it put itself down AGAIN, but this time it wouldn't come back up. So I drove around for awhile, still checking my rear view mirror constantly for ghosts, and kept trying to pull on the button to put up the window. After awhile, it came back up. And then a few miles later went back down again.

So, now my rear window is stuck in the down position. I am standing by and ready and willing to troubleshoot as per any instructions that you car guys are willing to give a girl...

A little help, please?

Thanks!

-Janet

Welcome to NICO Janet

I believe your remote can lower windows but I'm not positive. My memory is not what it use to be. In fact the wife claims my memory is completely shot.

The only other thing I can think of is turn the ignition off and on and let the ECU go thru its startup routine as this could be computer related. If your remote is in your bag with all the other stuff you have in it I would remove it where you can see it.

Good luck

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The remote is out of the bag and hanging from the ignition, although it can lower windows, I don't think that it is.

Besides, only one window is going down, not all four...

it could be a rear right power window switch going bad? did it ever got wet lately in anyway! it also can be the front driver power window master switch! also did it ever got wet lately in anyway! A bad P/W switch can do what you are saying!

Welcome to NICO!

I'd try and reset the window motor. check out the G-FAQs in my sig for instructions.

It sounds like a switch button problem...Try turning on the window defeat button until you get it fixed.

I did, not luck.

I am going to find some time during the next few days to test both switches.

By the way it sound if you push the window lock botton on the driver master switch and it still does it! That mean your driver master power window switch is going bad! No point of checking the back switch because when you push the lock bottom it cuts power to the back switchs! :yesnod

A friend of mine had this exact problem. You can roll the windows up and down with the key lock on the door. If you hold the key one direction or the other, it will roll up/down the windows, is you have premium package. Give it a try and see if that works, he hasn't had any problems since.
