hey guys, i have a 1972 240z that i am in the process of restoring/modifying. i now have it dirveable and have already upgraded the front brakes, now it is time to upgrade the rears from drums to discs. i know that a lot of you guys upgrade your brakes with calipers and rotors from different nissan models and was hoping someone has a set of rear calipers sitting around. if anyone has a set of rear calipers from a 1989-94 240sx they would be willing to part with cheap, let me know. [email protected]Thanks a lot!:ylsuper

thanks, but the cheapest i have been able to find is $85 apeice for reman ones AND they have a $50 core charge....so i would be looking at $250 for a pair for the rear since i dont even have a set to turn in for cores.

Search for Z32 brake swap and then see who has gotten that for their 240sx, after you have done that, email them and see if they still have their calipers--thjats alot of work isn't it

ah, i wasnt sure if most guys left the rears stock or not. makes sense since they are already discs and 80% of the stopping power is in front anyway. i saw a guy on ebay the other day that was selling the complete brakes from a 98 240sx because he had upgraded them to the 300zx ones but i couldnt use those because they were the wrong year :(

you should look for people who have done the 5 lug conversion on a 89-94 240sx using the 300zx rear disk brake assymblies NOT the 300zx brake swap.

why not install 300ZX brakes? If you are going to "upgrade" the brakes then don't halfstep. need a Borg Warner T5 out of a 280ZX for your Z? I got one sitting in a garage in Virginia doing me no good. I also have a freshly overheuled P90 head and an LD28 crank there as well.

to tell you the truth, i am not sure why they dont use the 300zx brakes! i was wandering the same thing myself. there must be a reason for not using them tho because i have never heard of a early Z with 300zx brakes on it. as far as i know there are only two "bolt on" rear disc upgrades for the early Z.

I've seen several, none in the states though. If I was doing up an old Z I would use 300ZX brakes all the way around.

madscientist; that is the exact setup i will have when i am finished:D i already have the fronts done and will soon have the rears. i guess i will kind of have 300zx brakes on my Z because i will have the front and rear rotors off of a 84 300zx...but the front calipers are from a toyo 4-runner and the rear calipers will be coming from a nissan 240sx.:ylsuper
