Fnially finished the maintenance blitz.

First tank of gass since back on the road. 16 MPG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wife swears she calculated it right.

Could the timing belt be 1 tooth off????

It is running smooth as a baby's bottom, starts perfectly, no knocking, nice and cool on the temp gauge.

I did the t-belt, all front seals, waterpump, all hoses, belts, NGK PLUGS, all parts from Joe at Scottsdale Infiniti, new brakes, and much more....

I got 22 - 23 MPG prior to th t-belt change. Could I be 1 tooth off and the computer compensating by advancing or retarding the variable timing enough to make it run???

Thanks, Matt

Seems pretty doubtful to me. What's the distance between teeth on the belt? How does the car's power feel? Give it another tank and do another calc.

Not possible. If the timing was off one tooth the car would not be running smooth.

Maybe you were gettin good milage and crappy performance before, now you get good performance crappy milage.

A J30 in town driving will NOT get above 20 MPG.

You cannot be a tooth off..your car would run like a jalopy, if not already knocking cams/heads.

"A J30 in town driving will NOT get above 20 MPG" is a very true statement. Add summer additives, it makes it worse.

I would wait a bit before jumping to conclusions..

Thanks for the reassurance!!! Wife informed me that the gas gauge went alot higher than when I filled it. gauge never quite gets to full and you can only get 13 gallons into it when the light turns on. So I'll give it another tank.

It runs perfectly, smooth, great power, I'll post the maintainence blitz list when I get the home internet back up.

Pre blitz got an overall 22 mpg, mostly city driving.

Thanks, Matt

The engine will idle normal, but it will not accelerate very well. Very hard to diagnose. You would know if the t-belt was off one tooth. It feels like a clogged up cat converter.
