hi everyone, i am new to the forum and just bought a 1986 KingCab 4x4 5speed manual. it's a solid 4x4 truck even with 264k miles. i plan to do a weber carb kit, head gasket and timing chain replacement this summer.
i am having trouble determining what my truck actually is and any help is appreciated. i have searched the web but with these old trucks there isn't much info. what i believe is that my 86 is a 720 because it has 4 headlights versus the 2 headlights of the 86.5 D21. there is conflicting information from several sources on if i have a 2.0 or 2.4L. some of which was discovered while at the parts store. my air filter was more similar to the 2.4 so i purchased that one but the PCV valve they gave me for the 2.4 does not seem right. it's a threaded PCV valve with a hose nipple. but, from what i believe to be my PCV valve on my truck has 3 smaller hoses and it is on top of my engine in plain view.
can anyone shed some light on this? how can i tell exactly what i have? it's got a carb if that's any help...
thanks!
