HELP, 5th gear not working at all

k so i bought a 92 pathy and its a 5spd, drives great! but my 5th gear absolutely does not work. like nothing there. i put it in 5th release clutch and its as if it is in neutral. like i can rev it up and everything wont stall just its basically neutral. dont know why or what happened. what could this be?? every other gear works perfect! please help any suggestions? is there a common problem with the shift link for 5th getting unscrewed or something????

teeths are gone... or the gear selector fork is broken so it isnt engageing into the gear... or the collar is broken...lol...sry probably not much help.

maybe go to a junker and grab a manual transmission from any hard body or ebay... because if your trying to get that fixed...thats one tough job!

I think I'd change the transmission lube and see what comes out with it.

Dunno about the the that generation of Nissan manual gearboxes, but I dida couple back in my 240Z days, and with patience, it was doable. Good tohave a sharp buddy double checking things as it came apart and went backtogether.

is there a chance something could have came loose like bolt popping out that connects to shifter to 5th??
