Recently the 4wd light has come on with the check engine light. Along with the overdrive light flashes for a few seconds when i start the SUV.
I thought it was the battery, so i had that replaced today. The lights did go away, but i drove to work and they came back on..
It is a 99 QX4, with 175k on it. This isn't my DD but is my bad weather vehicle... Any ideas? Nissan had it for 5 hours and couldn't find anything wrong expect a bad battery...
HELP ME :(

Ran diagnostics on it....
4wd light blinked 14 times...
Which means Throttle Position Circuit is shorted or open.
Ideas?

Start running through the diagnostic steps for the throttle position sensor, starting on page AT-160.

The good news is that the TPS isn't terribly expensive if you end up having to replace it.

Some of the steps are pretty quick if you have a voltage meter. I'd hate to see you drop $50 if that isn't the problem! Though if time and warmth are at a premium at the moment, I can't say I wouldn't do differently :chuckle:

Haha I wouldn't normally care to diagnose, but I'm in Missouri... Cold
And I've got the G on stilts waiting on these coilovers, but on CL i found a 97 pathfinder wrecked... But he will sell me the TPS for $20

Update. Bought the TPS off a 97 Pathfinder. Put it on and Check Engine light went away!
Time for some offroading
