Post

I have purchased a 350z GT Fairlady Jap Import and I have found a box tucked away in the car.

The box is blue and has the following information on it -

B5850-4N216
12v
Made in Japan
Mitsubishi Cable Industries

Does anyone have a idea what it may be?

Thank you

Welcome to NiCO.

That is a Nissan OEM part number for a Nissan XTrail, and has a description of "answerback basic type control kit".

Hmmmm thats odd.

I was thinking it may of been something to do with removing the 122mph restriction with a Jap import.

Thanks for your help!

Hmmm. I'd say if it's not connected then it's not restricting speed :)

I was thinking the box may have been used to lift the restriction then removed as it has plug in ports.

I also found reference to the unit on a 350z as being located to the rightside of the steering wheel near were I have some kind of card port.

Ive take some photos of it.

I guess I don't get what the mystery is.

It's a Nissan OEM part number. It's part of the parking assist system on a Nissan XTrail. I'm betting someone forgot and just left it in the car. New they run about $300USD, so if you can verify it works, you might be able to get some money for it on ebay.
