help 240sx v8 wiring

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

No you have relays, you have harnesses, wire is cheap, exspecially on that engine.

Just rewire it, do it right, and be careful, fuses are good.

Your car is carbed so you have a starter power wire, and a signal to the starter solenoid, engine ground, oil sensor, electric choke?, and some gauge wiring?

For the started you can use all the Nissan stuff, guages well in the cluster there is 2 ignition power sources for gauges.

Save the 600 bucks

the one that burned will have melted rubber around it and be pretty obvious.if you need to power something with a lot of amps it either needs to be a bigger gauge wire.or with a relay. fuse blocks can hold up to a 30 amp fuse. if you are going much higher than this should use a small amp wire from the accesory wire or ignition wire on back of ignition to turn on a relay to pull the power from a larger wire (one of the big white ones) and this should be fused as well to the rating of the relay.

the painless wiring harness would be a waste. If you do not know electrical then it would be in your best interest to do a little research on the internet.can probably fix your burned wire for 30 bucks (wire, spade connectors, electrical tape, inline fuse holder, wire stripper tool) maybe 50 if you need an extra relay.

when I first started mine up, had wired the clutch safety wire for the starter backwards ,so the relay and sent the 50amps back to my clutch pedal and not to starter solenoid.

trying to start the car wondering why the engine was not turning over and suddenly smoke coming from under the dash. wire was was fried.

I reread the first post and you said you think you burned a wire. you have not actually confirmed that a wire has been burned. what stopped working for you to think that? you are going to need to take your time, there is no quick fix.$35K later I can assure you that it is in your best interest to take you time.

wireing isnt too bad if u really understand it and its pretty simple to make the orignal harness to work if u wanted to go that way just get fsm manal to both motors and go to town

I know this post is like 3 years old but it talks about the 350 sb.

Was wondering if any one could help me out with it.
Has a holley 670 carb with electric choke.
The only gauge that works is the rpm gauge after market. And the clock. Put new gasket for the thermostate and know 2 other gauges stop working. Temp and oil press gauge stop working after doing that. And the battery goes dead after not starting it for 2 days. When i bought it those 4 gauges worked untile the new gasket.
And was woundering if any one knows where a good place would be to wire in the electric choke as of right know it is just zipped tied open so it don't close.
