Hello everyone, this is my first post so bare with me. Anyway my twin turbo runs fine at idle but feels like there is no power when I start driving her from a cold start. After I drive for about 5 minutes she drives fine. She has all her power and is very responsive. But after about 15 minutes she will be driving fine and out of the blue she will loose all her power. I can stomp on the pedal and my rpms will do nothing but drop. If I take the car out of gear and put it in neutral and then back into the same gear, she feels like nothing happened. It usually happens in fifth gear but not always. I think it might be either fuel pump or ecu but I'm not sure. Any ideas would help tremendously. Thanks

It's time to trouble shoot your Z.

Check fuel pump fuse
If that's fine, check for fuel pressure when the engine is on

It could be something as simple as a vacuum leak as well. I'm have that problem right now with my 91' z32 NA. My coolant reservoir was cracked and I believe that's stopping my engine from holding an idle.

Just do some research, be patient, and don't worry because Z owners always Mage it through.

Welcome to Nico both of you!

I wouldn't say the fuse, but the fuel pump could definitely be an issue. Try this: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/diy-fu ... ester.html

Have you pulled any ECU codes? Boost Leak check? I would start there and post back.

So i did the pressure test and it started at zero and went to 5 psi then to 10 then 20 then 30 then 40 then 50 and finally the car started. it was very jumpy as it went from one to the other. It finally settled out at about 42 or 43 psi. It was a very rough start. when i revved the car, it shot straight to 70 and then immediately went to 50 then settled out at 43 again. Ive started to have problems with the car starting. she turns fine but wont start for about 3 seconds.

It seems like you are not getting fuel. Try replacing the fuel filter. It is probably clogged up. If that doesnt do it, the fuel pump would be next. But start with the filter.

If it does it at startup, then you shut it off, and it starts up fine... then it is your FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator). It is what keeps the fuel pressure from returning to the tank. That is why you have to wait for it to pressure up. Replace that and Bob's your Uncle :chuckle:
