Hi everyone, I have an 06 Xetrra that I recently bought. it was running good for a few weeks then all of a sudden the RPMs were running high during idle, so I cleaned the mass air flow and throttle. then of course the SES light comes on. The code read P0507. I looked up all the relearn procedures and that cleared the SES light, but now when I accelerate I get this horrible rattling noise and the transmission doesn't want to shift into gear, it’s like I have to find the sweet spot for it go. it doesn't do it all the time, sometimes when I take the O/D off it seems to help but that's only sometimes. I’ve been searching for an answer and I usually do all the repairs myself I just didn't want to take it into a shop for the car not to make the noise when it’s there, as cars usually do when brought to the shop. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Danielle

:welcome: to NICO!

Was the idle relearn successful, and is it idling normally now? Was everything perfect with the transmission shifting before this issue?

Either way, I would check your transmission fluid's condition. There is a known issue where the seals in the radiator A/T cooler fail, allowing coolant to mix with the transmission fluid. A quick google search for "Strawberry Milkshake of Death" will give you a quick rundown of what happens. :ohno:

Thank you so much for your reply!
Yes everything was running fine before the issue it just happened all of a sudden.
It idles normal now around 650 rpm and the SES turned off and has stayed off.
But I will look into that milkshake of death lol
