Here in Texas we have to do the .dyno roller...., it failed on the NOx, it was real high ,(2180), it was supposed to be in the 900's, the guy said the egr valve, the engine is fairly new 36,000, miles no smoke no oil use, but the converter is from the old 215,000 mile engine, and the egr valve is also, any one fail for the same reason

i failed cause of high Nox too and it was because my egr system was all clogged with carbon.

Try posting this in nissan online mechanics forum and include all the # of everything that was measured like Nox, CO, etc.

If your only failing for oxcides of nitrogen, it is your egr. Check the rubber tube they like to callapse. If it isn't most likly the egr port is plugged.

Thanks to everyone...... the egr seems to be operating properly, it tries to stumble the engine when you press up on it while running, i would think it is ok, but maybe not, it holds vacuum, and raises when the engine is warm and is reved up in neutrall, it has 2 converters, i am wondering if the front one is bad, the code is 3 way catalyst malfunction. not sure which converter to replace, the one between the sensors ,or the second one after the first.
