Just thought I should say hello to everyone... just joined this forum.I've had my cube for only 3 weeks and I'm loving every minute of it...

I got the Scarlet Red 2009 SL with the ginormous package. The cubic hair (shag dash topper) was quickly turned into a toy for our cats...

Welcome to Nico! I hope you're kidding on the shag dash topper, why not save it? Do you have any plans for upgrades? Read around on here for ideas. If you have questions, we can point you in the right direction.

Um... no... I am not joking about the cubic hair. It was off of the dash before we got handed our keys... we got home and sprayed it with cat nip and our cats are having a blast with it. I just really didn't like it. But that's just me... a little weird. I started a thread on one of the other cube forums asking what other people did with it... I was actually surprised to see how many people like that disc of shag... lol

As far as modding goes, this is our family car... the wife and I both agree that we are not going to be doing any mods, definitely in the first few years. The only thing we might add is a hood deflector (would have to order it in from Canada) to keep rocks, road debris, etc off the front and the windshield.

I know, I know... I'm weird... Buy a cube and remove the cuboc hair... buy a cube and not plan any mods... I guess I'm a purist... but one thing is sure... the fam LOVES the cube!

Im not trying to be negative, I don't like it either so I'm saving it just for the sake of giving it to the next buyer. But each to his own. Good to hear your family (and the cats... partly) enjoys the Cube, my family does too.

Since its a family car/daily driver, I'd recommend WeatherTech's All Weather mats, I have a thread with a link on here. They're really cool and you don't have to worry about the carpent getting beat up. And to keep interior noise down, Dynamat or any other sound deadener is a good idea too.

I didn't think you were being negative at all ;-)

Call me cheap... went with all weather mats from a big box store. Got the original cube mats stored for spring/summer/fall, but as soon as it gets too wet out there, the rubber ones go back in.

So many people are talking about it being too noisy in the cube... I don't have that issue... maybe I'm getting hard of hearing So what is this dynamat you were talking about? Maybe I should do a search on the forum for that... I'm sure there is a thread about that out there.

Hey Damien... aren't you on the NCL forum as well? You have the silver cube all modded out, right? Love what you did with it for a show car. Not for your every day driver but a very nicely done for a show car!

Hey, Congrats with your purchase! The red is a pretty nice color for it. Pretty funny what you did with the shag topper, but it's pretty useless so at least the cats get some use out of it lmao. I actually like mine, it somewhat holds my sunglasses and it makes the car look unique. And you should definitely get something to cover the car, I didn't and all the salt and rocks kicked up so I have a bunch of mini scratches and chips on my bottom bumper, nothing too bad though. Good luck!
