I'm new here and the main reason I signed up was to get help with my trunk. I have an S14 and I can't get the trunk open  When I bought the car the girl didn't have a key that would open the trunk and I wasn't too worried about it but now the lever next to the driver's seat will not work. I've heard that you can climb into the trunk and open it from inside but my husband skrewed a board in place right in the opening between the trunk and seat to mount my amps but now I cannot get to the trunk from the inside. We really need to get into the trunk  I was thinking that we could knock out the lock and open it then replace the lock and cable system. Is this the only way or are there any other ideas out there?

Yeah, a locksmith would probably be the best bet. I'm sure there's a how-to somewhere on how to rebuild the tumbler, like there is for the Z32, but in order to get it open you would have to call the locksmith.

I don't mind having to buy a new lock but I don't know if knocking/drilling it will cause other problems. My husband tried to open it with the key and broke the key so I'm gonna have to call a lock smith either way :( we have bad luck with locks, our suburban was broken into and the knocked out our locks to get in.
