Thanks! I've missed this place. I don't have the subie anymore. Bought a 2012 VW Golf TDI 6mt and am really loving it just as a simple dd. I also picked up a ninja 250 as my first bike that i'm having a blast with:

I've been looking at the golf tdi...do you like it? Seems like for the looks, room, and gas mileage, it can't be beat. Though I'm also waiting to see the Ford Focus ST

Honestly I couldn't think of a better car to go with. My purpose was to have a fuel efficient, reliable dd that was still fun to drive. The golf handles great for a fwd, has plenty of power (240 lb ft tq), and gets awesome mileage. I'm averaging 35-40 in town, 48 highway so far and it still isn't at the 10K break in point. I should start seeing 45 in town and 50+ on trips. Granted FL consists of flat driving so that also helps. I also like how its still a 2 door car yet has a ton of room. I can haul 4 people comfortably and no one is cramped in the back. On top of all that, all maintenance is covered for 30K miles courtesy of VW. The strange part is this is a car I dont really want to do much to. I put the oem lowering springs on it and just ordered an injen intake just for a bit of noise. I'm happy with it as it sits for quite a while.

sweet! That's exactly what I'm looking for. Something that's a great daily, great on gas, has plenty of room, and looks good with all of that. How are they on technology inside the car, like bluetooth, heated seats, etc?

If you don't mind me asking, is the insurance expensive on volkswagens? I'm sure it'll be cheaper than my z, though probably not by much since it's new....

Well that really depends on which trim you get. Mine is the base model tdi. It has cloth heated seats, touch screen sat radio, 6 disc changer, blutooth, ipod, Computer in between the cluster for mileage calculation, hands free calling, e.t.c. Of course you can get higher levels with navigation and a sunroof but I didn't go for it.

As far as insurance, it is a very safe rated car. I pay 60/month for full coverage with infinity.

LOL, pretty much! Although this fleet will be around for a while. The car has to, as I have a loan and wont do anything until its paid off. The bike might go away after a year or 2 if I outgrow it, but you never know.

Welcome back! You should trade in the TDI a month before the warranty runs out. :gapteeth:

Hehe. Should be a bit better since its diesel. Plus VW has gotten better recently and my car was assembled fully in Germany. If it does give any trouble. At least the warranty doesn't run out until its paid off!
