Hello, I am a new owner of a 06 M35X , replacing my 97 540I. I was a participant in the roadfly forum dedicated to the BMW and I hope to be of assistance in this forum. I was not expecting the M to perform at the level of the 540 but I am pleasantly surprised. My 540 with 149K was still running strong however the seat of my pants says the M35 is close if not suprerior performer. I have one issue with the car that I cannot find doing a search of this forum. It concerns the seat heater. I live in Maine and this is a much appreciated function however I find it very slow and unimpressive in its heating ability. The cooling is fine but the heat not so much. Can anyone offer some feedback regarding this issue. Possibly changing the filter that I cannot seem to find under the seat or a new module if possible? OR is is just the nature of the heater to be very slow and unimpressive. It takes about 10 minute to feel anything, by that time my butt has already done the job anyway. Any and all comments would be appreciated. Once I learn more about the car I hope to be able to participate in discussions. Thanks in advance.

Always a popular topic once it gets cold. I have the previous model M and mine work greeeeaaaattt! Almost too good. You may be due to change the filter in the seats to get a better sensation.

For the past 2 years I've been lurking or a part of these Infiniti forums, the seat coolers/heaters have been an area of "heated (pun intended)" contention. For some they are adequate, others not. There seems to be no way to improve their performance from what I've been able to read. Either you love'em or hate'em.

Mine seem to work OK, but slow. Yes, I had a new '71 Saab 99E and it would burn my butt; was the best machine I've ever owned; but I was young then too.

I haven't needed to use them yet, but I had an '05 Sporttrac that would be warm about 2 minutes into the drive.

Thanks for all the helpful responses, can anyone tell me how to get to and replace the filters for the seat heaters. I have looked under the seat but cant see anything that looks like a filter enclosure.

Living in the Chicago area I have found the heaters to be slow to warm up. My other cars have been almost too hot. I almost never have the M seat settings on anything but high. The cooling however is great.
