WOW!!!!!!

This is an incredible site with a wealth information, didn't know and wasn't prepared for the Q experience when I got it. I have a 1991 Q45A with 100,000 miles with a flat suspension. I'm moving to New Jersey and am need of a good mechanic to take care my Q. Are there any referals available as I belive the car to be stock with no upgrades i.e. transmission cooler and timing chain guides.

Buy some tools, get a jack stand or two, print off the articles and threads linked from Q45.org, and get busy working on that Q!

I own two 1991 Q45a's myself, and I love them. When I first visited this site, I couldn't perform my own oil change...about a month ago, I completed the updated chain guide job myself! Just takes some research, some time, and a little practice.

Welcome to NICO and best of luck.

Your Q looks good as well as a lot that I have seen here, they are motivational for sure. I love my Q too and wish that I had to the time and ability to do my own work. Unfortunately life does not permit that luxury at the moment.

Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

Vanmeter Auto Service - Located in Mantua NJ is a reputable shop for folks in the northeast. Keith Vanmeter, a former Infiniti technician now working independently, can be reached at 856-415-2022.

For active suspension, contact a member named texasoil, and read all his posts.

Just realize my Q is Black Emerald Green too but looks nothing like yours. Are both your Q's active? I am leaing towards converting.

Hey thanks for the info on the mechanic. I will probably get to know them pretty well once in Jersey.

Welcome Jazzman!I know that the a might be a headache right now. However when it's up to spec there's no car in the world for that kinda money that can even compare. The a is the reason why I bought my Q.In Nov of 91 a buddy of mine leased a 92a and I got to drive it a LOT when it was new. WOW!!!

There's Texasoil who could hook you up with your active system.

I would think long and hard about the conversion.

On a side note, why are you moving from sunny Fla to Joyzee?

The one in the picture is the Silver Q... my green one has slightly better paint, IMO. Though, I do like the Silver color better now that I have gotten used to it.

Yes, both mine are Active... though, they are really only semi-active until I get them recharged. I am hoping to have them both fully restored before NOPI in the fall. My dad and I are talking about road tripping with both of them.

My dad is considering a conversion to standard, but I am trying to talk him out of it. Its not that much cheaper to convert if your active isn't completely trashed. And, there is just something cool about owning such a rare gem...no one has ever really made a suspension system quite as cool as this one.
