Hello New to Maxima's but not Nissans

I just bought a Maxima with 123k runs very smooth and shifts good.and the previous owner gave me the Smog certificate from like 2 weeks ago and passed with flying colors.

but the only issue that I had so far was when I got off the freeway, the service engine light came on, so now I'm looking around for some info to see what are some issues that these maxima's have any input from you guys would be great

Congrats on your purchase. Looks to be a 97-99 model, so you can stop in to any parts store and get the code scan done free of charge. If the code comes back with 'P1XXX', then it might show as a manufacturer controlled code. In this case you should be able to search the code on here/Google. The most common codes I see on the 97-99 Maxima's are EGR flow issues and the occasional knock sensor or oxygen sensors. The knock sensor code is generally due to low grade fuels, but can also just be bad.

So I went to my parents and my dad has a scanner so I scanned it and got a p0158, which was an o2 sensor the one located after cat. so I cleared the code for now if it comes up again then I need to replace it so Im good for now.

At 123K, it honestly might be worth the money to just do it. Just my opinion.
