Just picked up an '08 yesterday. The car is a rocketship and very fun, i'm guessing you know this already!

25k miles, and the previous owner scratched the hell out of the shift knob. Looking for a good deal on an OEM black/silver, so if anyone can help. I'm sorry, i have searched for quite a while on a bunch of sites.
Thanks. John.

CONGRATS!!!
Not sure where to get a replacement knob, but did somewhere where somebody refinished theirs. Mine has a few small scratches, but doesn't bother the wife.

Welcome to Nico too!!

Pics when you get a chance! :yesnod

Welcome,

Few points here. Most likely not the previous owners fault. That thing was scratchable so easily. My 07 was horrible. My late 08 is good. Same with the door bezel. Where the window switches. All around it had a soft material silicon like and it was chipping. However both were fixed in production in mid cycle 08. If the local dealer is nice they probably would replace it for you under warranty. If not you have few options. You can use a leather stiched Infiniti M shift knob or OEM. All you have to do if you use the M one to cut a little off the white plastic assemble part.

How is your grill? It was a hit and miss. They were pitting like crazy. First few k miles I had like 2000 small little pitting on it. They replaced it under warranty. On my 08 I switched to a midnight grill.

If you are looking for OEM shift knob look for the sponsors here at Nico. If you can't find it call/ email riverside Infiniti and ask how much they would charge. They have good price on almost everything.

Good luck.

The grill seems fine, although i need to really clean it, got rained on the 2nd day of ownership, so it's hard to tell. I'll take a peek at the links you all gave me above. Thanks much.

You can find manual knobs on ebay. Auto knobs you will need to hit up Infiniti or try and get one at a salvage yard (or be patient and watch ebay).

Thanks, i have reached out to Riverside Infiniti. We'll see what they can come up with. I don't mind the M leather wrapped, but it doesn't look as finished as the OEM, that's just me though.

and i was going to post up a pic, but it looks exactly like ZoZo's sig. :)

Well riverside is a bust, never got back to me, nice! Anyway, i pulled the shift knob off last night, took a 200 grit sand paper to it, and guess what, it looks like brushed aluminum, almost a perfect match for the interior. So I think i'll keep it for a while, nothing to lose here. Can always buy something right!
I can post up a pic if anyone here is in the same boat, don't want to spend $100-$200 but also can't stand the scratched up knob.
