Post

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Ivory 2005 Infiniti Q45, my last car was a 2004 Nissan Maxima. I finally stepped up to the big car. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here concerning my new car.

First question is "who has the 2005 Q45 owners manual?" I want to pair my bluetooth phone with the car.

Thanks,

Mike

I will post pics soon!

download 1994-2006 Q45 FSM hereplace all files in a single common separate directory so the all the links work.

Download owners manual from Nissan site, but I cannot understand WHY anyone would buy a vehicle without owners manual being supplied?

If I could get a hell of a deal on a car, what does it matter if it doesn't have an owners manual? The net is full of them. Am I missing something here?

I was planning on going to the dealership tomorrow and get the manual if it wasn't somewhere on the web.

It's available on the web. So is the Factory Service Manual. Both free. Search this site and you will find the link. If I knew it, I'd post it for you. Congrats on the ride. I hope it's been well treated and treats you well. These cars get hi-marks from consumer reports and JD Power etc, but they do require maint and it can be expensive.

When you have some free time, spend it here and you will learn much about the care and feeding of these fine cars. The more you can do yourself, the more you will save on maintenance. Qualified technicians seem to be hard to find and hard to afford when you do. There are many many things you can do irrespective of your previous experience if you are willing to do the research and skin your knuckles.

Good luck and welcome to the club.

Thanks, i would like to know what maintenance these cars need. My 2005 only has 17K miles on it, should I just follow the service manual? I thought the 2005 Q45 had bluetooth connectivity but I can't find anything that tells me it does. I saved the owners manual and FSM...

Like any car, more frequent than average fluid flushes will greatly increase longevity - other than that, the Q is just a larger, RWD, heavily electronics laden car. I know the Bluetooth connectivity didn't arrive on the G35 until the 2006 model year, but I'm not sure on the Q.

You need to post pictures of your new ride! And welcome to NICO!

Congrats on buying a car with very low mileage. Hopefully it got off to a good start with the previous owner. Schlep on down to an infin dealer and give them the VIN. They will give you a print out of all the maint performed by a dealer. Hopefully the dude was anal with his oil changes.

As pointed out above, fluids fluids fluids. I can only vouch for what I have learned here but these cars tend to have a relatively low life transmission. By low life I mean 120-150K miles. The are many horror stories about guys spending BIG bucks to have them repaired / replaced. So, if it were mine I'd get on a routine and change that fluid out every 30K or so. I cannot speak for the longevity of the trans on your car, but the earlier cars have had issues.

I'd toss high quality engine oil (synthetic) in it every 5000 miles or regular Dino every 3000. Oil and trans fluid are CHEAP compared to major repairs on either appliance. Fresh crappy fluids are superior to old dirty high end ones.

Follow the recommended intervals and you ought to be OK.

Read a ton of threads here and you'll see what other (with far more experience and knowledge with these cars) guys do to keep theirs happy.

The vast majority of info on this site pertains to the earlier (first generation) cars and it will be a bit baffling at first trying to learn the differences and all the acronyms. But, you'll figure it out as you go along. Congrats and good luck.
