Just picked up a 2006 black/black m35x. This car is loaded to the hilt - has the rear seat entertainment screen, rear reclining seats / sunshade, rear HVAC controls, etc. I think every option available.
I'd like to throw my 120GB ipod in there for some more audio choices.
I have the NAV and Sirius radio in the car. Seems like this would be a good option:

PA15-INFI - HowTo Doc

I don't ever touch the ipod in other cars and would just leave this in the car. Short of the hassle of running the cabling back into the vehicle, can't I just mount this in the trunk with some velcro and leave it there?
Other questions:
This in no way would interfere with the Sirius radio, correct?
This does charge the ipod as well?
I'm wide open as far as options, so if there's something out there better please let me know.

I had a Lexus LS460 L with all the gadgets - just got tired of the lack of driving excitement with that car.

Welcome to the forum!

This unit is specifically designed for those with XM. My old 2007 was XM capable, but didn't have it, so I got the PA15-NIS (you might have seen my HowTo/Review). It does charge.

As for leaving it in the trunk, you could, but I wouldn't. Why? Because occasionally (like once every couple months) you have to unplug the iPod and plug it back in, usually on car start, to get it to read again. I know for me, that would piss me off if I had to go to the trunk each time lol.

The M is a nice car, but if I had more money I'd be rockin the LS460L lol. That is, from the 'non-exotic' genre of car, my most favorite car. That'd be my daily if I had bank.

Please update your profile to show your location, also.

(btw, I deleted your post in the other thread since it's redundant - I have edited your post here to link to that thread)

When you say specifically for "XM" I assume you mean satellite radio in general right? My 06 has Sirius. For now at least I'm going to mount it in the trunk and if I need to continually reset it or it becomes annoying I can always run it up to the center console once the weather warms up.
As far as the Lexus - here's the one I was selling (sold it yesterday actually):

Of course the LS is a "nicer" car, but the LWB version is just ridiculously huge. I work from home 4 days a week now and didn't need the garage queen just sitting there with a high monthly payment. It's like driving your couch down the freeway. Keep in mind I had the LS430 for 8 years before that - it was just time for a change. The M is a great blend of luxury and fun to drive - I just hope my back gets used to the semi-uncomfortable seats over time. :)

Will update my profile now, thanks!

Yeah, XM/SIrius. Ahh you had an older one...I thought you traded in the modern one (love the latest body style - hated the old ones). Cool regardless.

That explains it: I received a Topic Reply Notification on that thread, but by the time I got around to reading the thread, there was no new post. Confusing, indeed.

I chased this thread down by searching on "sparky3", which was included in the TRN email.

You do realize 2007-2012 had an identical body style, and the only thing changed on 2012-2015 really is the front grill for the most part? :chuckle:

I do...but he didn't technically state if he got it new or not so for all I know (and how I read it) was that it's a pre-2007 :chuckle: (which is the body style I don't like)

The one I just sold (mine) was a 2007. First year for the LS460; it superseded the LS430 (2001-2006). While not too pretty, the 01-06 LS430 is the best car Lexus ever made IMO; I had a 2004 that I drove for 8 years.
