Just got off the phone with an out of county dealer. Gave them my CC number. They found me the car. It should be here tomorrow.Either I pick it up tomorrow night, or more likely Monday.I have a party saturday night. So the car must wait. Beer rules over everything.

S model Magnetic Grey, 6-speed, power package, ABS, floor mats and 200mph mud flaps(they better be able to handle 200mph for that price!)

wonder if a Cadillac Northstar will fit

I traded my 1998 BMW 318ti M-Tech for it. I am going to miss that car. But I put 40,000 miles on it and it was time to go before the car implodes from being an old BMW. Plus I wanted better milage, I got 30mpg with the BMW 1.9liter four. Plus the wife wanted something new and cheap. I wanted a Cadillac... might be age... but the wallet said different. 2 kids in college ya know...

I like itsy bitsy cars. I have owned many "real" Mini's over the years. Real as in BL Minis, not BMW. Little cars are just so much fun. Plus I like Nissan, ya, I love Toyotas, but my import hotrodding days started with a brand new 1983 1/2 Nissan 720 pickup... orange. damn I loved that pickup.

How did I find it? I have been here for quite awhile. I think I have another name, but cant remember what the sn was. Bigger is better ya, know

dropping his VW Superbeetle off here to store it for a few weeks today. Luckily I have plenty of land, but still, the wife hates all the cars

Ya they know. And I think they know my feelings about the current Toyota trends. Not happy. But hey. Nissan has what I want.

Took us a while to find the damn car. Had to settle for White. Dont mind that, but having to have the tan interior almsot was the deal breaker. Hate tan and especially around these parts of Virginia with red mud.

My wife is all excited about this car. Picked out some 17" Borbet wheels with some 205 45 17 Kumho Ectas

Been looking at the body kits. Found a supercharger kit for $2600 that bosts it up to around $150hp. Problem is that you have to use the J-Spec uprated ECU... I figure there may be some major issues at getting that to work with the OBDII setup the US car has. We will see.I like the Impul body kit. Going to have my buddies at Jarco see how much they can get that kit for me and also get the complete Tiida emblem set.

I'll have some suspension upgrades made within a few weeks with strut bars and stuff installed. Have the material and purchased a new Miller Millermatic 251 with the 30 amp aluminum gun yesterday.

Took delivery last night. Dealership tried adding $800 to the cost of the car as a "Market Adjustment" fee. Due to the car being "Rare". I refused to pay that. Then they tried to steal my trade, a 98 BMW 318ti M-Tech in prestine condition. Took us a while but we finally agreed to terms and took the car home last night.Paid sticker $14,175 (1.8S, white, floor mats, 6-speed, ABS, Power Package).

First impressions - 50 mile drive home.

Car is extremely quiet inside at 80mph.

5th to 6th change is weird, it is easy to pop into 4th.

60-80 passing acceleration is smooth and easy.

On shifting - car stays at XXXX RPM for 1/2-1 second or so before falling off.

Hard to "speed shift" or rev match shifts. It is like the flywheel weighs 30 pounds. Slow easy shifting is best. This could change as the engine gets "older".

Lights are awesome!

Mirror adjuster switch needs to be lit up as it is hard to fin at night. I don't like the location of this switch. It needs to be in the door by the window switches.

Looking out the window reminds me of driving an early 1970s hotwheel.

Seating position is not that good, I am used to sports cars, not sitting up like in a bus. There is no comfort position for my right foot or leg. Cant lean it on anything. So long distance driving may be an issue. I guess this is where the cruise control would have been a good option to buy.

The front seet needs some thigh bolster adjustment. I guess I could be used to recaros, but then my Dodge Dakota has better support in that area. That could also contribute to my discomfort to the area above this paragraph.

The area between the rear seat and the parcel shelf needs to have a better design. It looks cheap. The "rug" velcros to the seat back. Looks cheasy and unlike the rest of the car.

Needs a center arm rest. This could be an upgrade on the SL... I don't know. The door rests are very well design and comfy, but I am missing the center arm rest.

more later as I drive the car more

Congrats, it sounds like you're a kid in a candy store...lol. The armrest isn't available on the S, but it is an upgrade that you get when you buy the SL. An aftermarket center armrest will be available soon. There's a company out there that has one in the making.

A lot of people have noticed the slow falling rpms. I think Nissan designed it this way on purpose to get you to shift slowly and smoothly to help keep your fuel economy up. Hopefully, soon, someone will come out with an better aftermarket clutch setup.

I am pretty certain it is the weight of the flywheel. Not the design of the clutch.

So is it safe to assume you'll be looking for a return on your investment on the Millermatic 251 and start offering a few suspension goodies for sale to the rest of the Versa guys?

I meant aftermarket parts for the transmission. Sorry for the confusion.

LOL... I need to follow the rules of the forum. When we are ready to sell stuff we will be contacting a mod and setting up some advertising and releasing our web address to our Versa webstore.

Until then, we'll all be itching and twitching.
