moshi moshi is hello on the telephone.

Ohayo gozaimasu is a somewhat formal morning greeting. I forget how to say the evening greeting.

Werd up G.

Anyway, I don't have any sound clips. If you meant "phonetic", of course it's relating to speech sounds.

I spelled it out how it actually sounds. If you need help clarifying or pronouncing anything, let me know.

Hajimemasite is something you say when you meet a person for the first time. It's like saying "It's nice to meet you"

French also use Salut (Sa-loo) in an informal manner.

This is what I get from my wife...she is Japanese and all...and I hope she's not pullin my leg...lol.

Ohaiyo gozaimasu (pronounced, ohio-go-za-i-mus, formal morning greeting.)Ohaiyo (mostly used between friends)O-ha (usually used with children and also used as slang)

Konichi wa (ko-ni-chi-wa, just like it looks.) Good afternoon. Used in just about any situation

Konba wa (this one is kinda wierd. sometimes when its said, you don't hear the N, but its there. Kon-ba-wa. Good evening.)

Anata-no ouchi wa doko desuka?

If you have anything else you would like to know in Nihon-go, let me know. Just don't flood me or anything. I will get back to you in a timely manner.

And to all of the others who replied...your level of Japanese is very impressive...a lot better than some of mine, and I live here.

My wife Kanae and oldest son Kai
