I could post a picture but mine isn't fancy like everyone elses LOL

I just bought it and am happy with it. I will be happier with it once I get the windows tinted and get some new rims.

so far I love my versa, and when I went in wanting a used car, I didn't realize that this model was one of the first versas made being an 07 hatchback but am quite pleased with it!

Nice to meet you

$11,200 on car, one owner.. One dealer. They bought it there, had maintenance done there and traded it back in , with me buying it.

33k miles on it.

As far as I know, I believe its just the base model but when I read through the paperwork I see no mention of anything else. When I bought the car, i really knew nothing about Versa's but love it so far.

The reason I suspect its a base model is I have no smart key or buttons on my steering wheel. It does have power locks and windows though! LOL

As for transmission Im wondering about that myself.

2007 Base Model w/ 33K on it?

It pains me to say this (and I'm not trying to ruin your day, I genuinely feel bad), but you overpaid BIG TIME. There's a $1,250.00 factory rebate right now for the Versa and there is ALWAYS room to negotiate even more. Your car officially goes out of warranty in 3K unless there's some kind of Certified Nissan Warranty, but even those are a joke. You're not sure what's meant by transmission - it just means either you drive an automatic or a 5 or 6-speed manual.

In any case, I just priced a 2010 Versa w/ Automatic Transmission and the Power Package, which brings the total MSRP to $15,910.00. With the $1,250 rebate, it brings the price of the car to $14,660.00.

Factoring in recession and typically slow sales month (Jan-April), you could have likely gotten the car out the door for $13,500.00 if you threatened to walk. Even if you settled on $14,000 (which is almost guaranteed that they'd say yes), that translates to $700.00 more for a brand new car, full factory warranty, and ABS standard (I'm not sure what else is new and standard for 2010).

Like I said, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I hate when dealerships rip people off. I bought my brand new, 2010 Versa 1.8S with a 6 speed and power package for right under $12,600.00.

I wish we could have gone car-shopping together.

Trenton, wow you're really NW Georgia, I'm about 15 minutes NW of Hotlanta (1 hour if it's a Friday at 5pm).

I paid $12,000 for my 2008 with 32k miles on it, CVT trans, a/c, cruise, power windows, locks, and 6 disk MP3 with aux input. So $11,200 for a barebones 2007 does seem a little high. Although I bought mine from a Ford lot, who took the car from a Nissan lot because they offered to knock off $1250 for what Nissan wanted.

Yes I agree that they likely ripped me off. LOL

But nothing I can do about that now, I will be paying monthly for what seems like the rest of my life.

The car seems to be running really good though.

Oh it is an automatic.

Haha cool others from Georgia =) I bought the car at Mountain View Nissan in Chattanooga and felt very pressured. I was actually bait switched because Id gone there to check out a Mazda Mazda 3 they had on their site.

But anyway I'm happy with the Versa and Plan to pay it off and keep it for a long time.

Yeah, I hate dealing with car salesmen. You could go there and be like "I'm looking for a 1970 station wagon, please." and they'd say "That's a great car, but if you're going to buy that you can also afford this 2010 BMW if we stretch your payments to 196 months!"

SouthernGirl,

I would try to get them to cancel the deal. Or at least let you trade up to a 2010 with a minimal penalty. Maybe aim for 1K over the transaction price of the Versa you just bought. At this point, the 1K would be VERY WORTH IT. Actually, at this point, if you think about it long-term, it would be in your interest to try and get a 2010. By this time next year, your Versa might only be worth 8K.

Okay well im not going to defend my new car anymore.

I joined this forum cause I thought it was cool and was very excited about my new car and I feel like Im bein told how much it sucks and how much I got ripped off.

One way or the other husband and I hooked into a car loan and plan to pay it off and probably keep the car ... Soooo

Thank you though for your concern.

No, no, no, no, no I'M SORRYYY... that wasn't my intention. What's done is done!

I'm glad that it's running well. So long as you love your car, nothing I or anyone says matters. Again, sorry!

You planning any mods or anything? Accessories?

We talked about possibly trading for a newer one in a year or two years, because we did just sign for the loan..

But I think its kinda cool having a first generation car. I read online that the hatchback, 07 was the first one made before the sedan.

In 10 years when our V's are more popular I can say I got one of the 'first' even if Im it's 2nd owner.

We plan to get the windows tinted asap and looking into rims. Trying to figure out how to best go about this. Id love to know if there's anything i can do to make it faster too, but that would come later.

Speed is all relative. You'll get the best bang for your buck with suspension, a strut bar, and wider tires. We're still working on the straight-line speed part. But it's coming...

I wish people would stop flaming others on their purchases. What is done is done. They agreed to the price and seem to be happy with their purchase...no need to bring in second thoughts now.Southerngirl, wish you many happy miles in your Versa!

Welcome to the Versa community!! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. I have a 2007 Hatchback SL with around 35k on the clock. Mines only 3 years old but it's already got way too many stories to go with it. Good to see another member from Northwest Georgia.
