Hi!
I just picked up my 91 Nissan President at the port today.
Ordered it in Japan with 133000 kms!
Way too much bits and bobs on the car to fully understand from the beginning, but I managed to download a 96 Q45 owners manual, and they seem to be about the same.
I have a non official Honda dealership (specialised in 80's and 90's Hondas but the early 2000 Type R's (DC2 and DC5) as well) but this car just was too cool to not buy.
I'm a real petrolhead and in my private collection are at the moment:
2001 Subaru Impreza Wagon Bugeye WRX (daily)
1991 Honda Beat (JDM) (With extremely rare adereide planning hardtop)
1991 Honda Civic EG6 SiR (JDM) with B18C engine
1991 Nissan President
Here is a quick picture:
Lots of gizmo's on the car, so lots of stuff that can be defective.
To begin with the brakes, most important stuff. They really shudder and braking power is allmost non existant. Pads, discs all seem to be in poor condition.
So I'm going to place new pads and discs around.
But the problem with living in Belgium is that our suppliers don't know the Infinity Q45 or Nissan President.
Does the 91 president share the same discs and pads as another Nissan car?
I've seen the front discs are allmost the same as the latest 300ZX model, only difference being the thickness. The 300ZX is 30mm thick, the President stock thickness is 28mm, so maybe the calipers wont fit over them anymore...
So can anyone answer me if there are pads and discs front + rear which are identical to another car? So I can order my parts that way.
I live in Belgium so I really prefer to order my parts in Europe.
Also the Actsus light is permanently on. Is there any way to diagnose it yourself?
I've heard it can be a lot of things. From a sensor to a failing shock...
Plans with the car so far... Probably looking into some nicer wheels and maybe if the active suspension is at a loss I might install coilovers.
I'll keep the plans posted.
