hello from a newbie

Hi there. Just bought a 91 240sx LE with 90,000 miles on it for $3,000. It is a thing of beauty. The only problem with it seems to be that the trunk won't latch.

Your site is great! I suppose I'll be lurking quite often!

I have a million ?'s, but believe I'll use the search function as most of them have probably been answered at some point.

Actually, it's already a manual.

I will get some pics on here as soon as the snow melts enough to allow me to make it back from the car wash without my car turning from white to grey. Come on Spring!!!!!!!!

wats up man......i have the same problem wiht my 91 240 fb, my trunk will close but not latch some times too.Dont know what the he11 is wrong with it the latch seems to be workin when i mess with it when the hatch is open..anyone else have this problem??

as for your little trunk problem i have an idea. it is a far out idea but eh i'll toss it your way anyways. you might want to think of somehow using those hood pins that people use on carbon fiber hoods. i am pretty sure that they use them on the trunk on the JGTC racecars. it would mean that you dont need to latch the trunk anymore but i think people could probably just open your trunk and steal stuff out of there if they wanted to.well there is my crazy idea.good luck with your car.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I worked on the trunk last night and finally got it to latch with a good ole fashioned SLAM!

Not a bad idea with the pins, but I have the conceal carry liscense. Need to keep it locked up! I think I will be able to adjust the locking mechanism some how in order to get it to line up better. I'll wait till the temps above 30 to do it though. PA winters suck ***.

Anyway, being new to the world of the 240, why don't some of you experts tell me about my car. I had a 92 Sentra Se-R for 10 years, sold it and purchased a tacoma double cab. I did some serious work on that thing.....sweeeet! In order to finish up med school, I had to sell it recently though, which brought me to the 240. It was my brother-in-laws. Its been garaged for the past 6 years with occasional weekend driving. It is in superb shape. He hasnt done anything as far as upgrades to it (it has new Yokohamas though.)

So....what can a poor med student do in order to juice up this thing a bit
