...with a new ride:
2008 Nissan Altima Coupe | 3.5 SE | Dark Slate | All stock (for now)
I just bought it a couple weeks ago. I was considering the '09 Eclipse and the '08 Accord, but once I sat in the cockpit of the Altima, my search was over -- I had found THE ONE!
I've been checking out this board since I began my search for a car about a month ago, and I'm really glad I found it because it's been a great resource and has eased my mind about a lot of things -- noises, for example, like the ABS test clunk and the passenger seat belt rattle -- and it's saved me from having to take needless trips to the dealer. You know, it's a lot easier to take the issues with a new car when others are experiencing them as well. So, a big thanks to all the owners who've shared their experiences here -- hopefully I can add some insight as well.
Speaking of insight, I'm looking for a little more about some other noises I'm hearing in my coupe (as you can probably tell by now, I've got sensitive hearing!):
1. The first noise is a scraping/rubbing sound coming from the steering column area when I turn my steering wheel hard right and back to center. I had my dealer take look at it and they replaced the spiral cable, but I'm still hearing the noise, though it's not as loud.
2. The second noise is a creaking sound, kinda like what you'd hear in an old house, near the air conditioning/CD player. I haven't been able to isolate it as it sounds like it covers a fairly large area.
If anybody's heard these in their coupe or has any ideas about what could be causing them, I'd be very interested in hearing about it!
Well, that's it for now. I'm happy to be among proud Altima coupe owners. (We've got great taste in cars, don't we? ) Thanks for listening!
