there are a lot of guys in atl on the board. We try to have meets every month but I have not been very good at making them. I'm sure you have seen the "atl 240sx owners check in" at the top of the general section. Check it out. And welcome aboard

i went through a company in CA called garage parts. check out there web site at http://www.garageparts.net/store.htm its a small company meaning they only have two workers but they do a pretty good volume of selling. my car cost 6000 but that was shipped and everything. it also came with alot of aftermarket parts.

i will probably never register the car. i plan to make it a track only car. i'll probably put it in shows but mainlyuse it for drifting.

they are so hard to register because of many reason1) in the us we have harder smog laws2) the bumpers in the us are rated at 5mph were in japan i think it is only three3) the front windshield is not made of tempered glassthose are just a few of the reasons, and all have to be fixed in order to pass the epa and dot inspection. i don't even think the vehicle could have a sr or ca just because they were not offered in the U.S. plus before you can even touch the car it has to pass through a customs inspection were if you don't have all your papers in order they can hold the car till you get them. so it is hard to get them in but there are some loop holes if you really want one.

That is why his car does not come with the motor in it.

So it qualifies as a parts car and not as a running car.

s15nc is exactly right. that is one of those loop holes. it actually turns out that people are taking these cars and registering them as a regular 240sx they just leave the rhd part of the car out. i've heard of this being done, but doubt it actually works. there is also a way to change the vins but that is illegal. i don't feel like going to jail so thats why i'm not even going to try either.

Y not just own another 240sx and have that registered and put your plates on the new one. Is a police officer ever going to check the vin. Ans you just have to pay a little money to the person at the inspection station to not worry about putting the sticker on the car or know the person who works at the inspection station.

i don't even have to do that i 'm a state certified emissions inspector and have many friends that are, my emissions test are not free but i get them a avery low price. i thought of buying another but it is getting kind of hard to find them. i spent over three years trying to find a decent one for a reasonable price when i finally found this offer. but also when you have a driving record like me, which includes two reckless driving, at least ten speeding tickets, and a fleaing and attemptimg to elude i got about two years ago, the cops will shoot me even if i look at them wrong. every where i go even in my work truck i feel like i have a police escort.
