Thank you everyone for the welcome, I appreciate it. I currently live in Greensboro, NC but in less than 30 days God willing I will be relocating to Clayton, NC. I have had my M for 3 years, I love it. I owned a M45 as well. Just finished painting the calipers which I thought came out looking amazing, if I must say, lol. I am thinking about vinyl wrapping the section on the rear bumper just above the exhaust tips in black to give it a diffuser look. What are your thoughts?

Yep.

5.6 is only available on the L with AWD here in Canada. She wears the weight well.

Oh, I have some left over parts from my M56S if you are needing anything. Carpet and All-season floor mats. And K&N drop in filters for the 5.6L.

Ah, so you live in Clemmons area?

I actually have a brand new set of carpet mats that the dealer gave me and then I bought weather tech soon after, so I am good on the mats. The K&N I have heard mixed reviews. Some say the factory air filters in these cars are well designed and less restrictive, pretty close equivalent to a K&N. The factory air induction channels the air well into the air box. What are your thoughts? Did you see or feel improved performance from the motor as a result of K&N.

Yeah I'm just over the line in Davidson county, but Clemmons address.

I believe the K&N are a little less restrictive, but also just like being able to clean them every 10K miles or so compared to the price of buying the OEM ones every oil change.

Welcome aboard man! Got my '12 M56x back in Sept 2015 from Carmax. I've thoroughly enjoyed my car so far, plan on keepin' it for a while. I also live in NC; we relocated from Georgia in 2005. We were in Clemmons West on the east side close to Tanglewood Park but we recently moved down the street off of Hampton Road to the west side. We closed on the 29th of last month, still getting unpacked and settled in. We close on our old house maybe Monday or possibly Friday, so I feel ya bro on the relocation. Too much damn work LOL. We did our own packing but we used Tri-City Movers for the furniture. Good luck with your move!

Your mod sounds great - go for it. Your car looks great! I've only done a few mods; manifold back dual exhaust, aftermarket fog lights and soldering the resistor in the MAF wiring for improved throttle response in hotter weather. I haven't done any body mods. Also plenty of great info in the DIY section. I have a couple of write ups - antenna swap to an upgraded unit for better reception, fog light change and aftermarket catch cans if you're interested.

I usually do my own basic maintenance services but if you need a dealership for more labor intensive services I use Modern Infiniti here in Winston-Salem off of Peter's Creek Pkwy. They've always treated me right and always give me a loaner no problem. I know they have a dealership in Greensboro but it's too far for me to drive.

Armybrat, appreciate the welcome. I use Modern in Greensboro and like you they treat me well, no complaints. So now I am going to have to find a new reputable dealership in the Raleigh area. So I swapped my fog lights too. The lenses were just beaten up with highway driving by previous owner. But I went with the factory ones but installed PIAA yellow bulbs. I vinyl sprayed my grill to give it the midnight look. Did leds all inside and trunk. I am running 4k Sylvania bulbs in the heads along with same brand leds on the parking lights, so they match.
My XM reception is crap, so I will definitely try to find the write up on the antenna swap. I am interested in some kind of tune. My G8 had Livernois tune and that made a big difference. Not sure if I should try one of those handheld turner first before investing in a more custom tune. What do you think?
I bought mine in 2016 sight unseen in Knoxville, lol. Found it at Autoworld on a Sunday online. Talk to dealer on Monday am to find out more about the car. Monday pm got the check from the bank. On Tuesday 7am I was no a one way flight to TN, haha. Love the car going to hang on to it for a while. My 10 year old daughter wants it as her college car, lol.
Next year going to look into buying a truck, maybe like new Ridgeline or Canyon. Something the wife can drive too. I want a Sierra but she will probably not go for that.

Sounds like you are a DIY guy so check out the "How To & FAQs" link at the top section of the forum. The antenna thread is under the exterior section. Nissan upgraded the antenna in 2014; it's a direct swap and fits many models not just the M. It made a huge difference on my car, hence the writeup. There's a lot of great info and write ups by other members too.

Most folks here use Uprev for custom tuning on the M. The only handheld/plug n play tuner that I know of is the Bullydog GT that one member here tried out, he seemed to have good luck with it. You're looking at $400 or so vs Uprev which will be a little more, plus you have to check and make sure your ECU is supported - if not, it'll cost you an extra $200 to get it added. If you use the search function on the right of the screen and type in "Uprev" there are several threads about the tuning process. I'm tuned myself so I'll be glad to walk you through it if you decide to go that route.

I have an old 1993 Ford F150 4x4, 5.8L. It saved my bacon with the recent move. Wife doesn't like to drive it LOL

Welcome.

I had an '08 G8 GT. Sold it and bought a '17 Chevy SS (NOT a camaro SS). LOVE my SS. Hands down best car I've ever owned....and a little fast.

Got my '11 M37S as a commuter. Welcome to the board and nice looking car.

Thanks for the welcome. I looked at a Chevy SS and TD one at a local dealer back in 16 when I bought my M. Don't remember was year it was but it was very nice with the head up display and everything. Made an offer but they refused to come off the price. So I walked. A week later I was on a plane headed to TN and bought the M. Few days after I returned from TN they started blowing up my phone to come back.

Yeah, they were really proud of them for a while and it was reflective in their negotiating. I got mine at one of their 20% off sales. Likely wouldn't have done it if that wasn't the case.

you did just fine though...nice rig. Almost as rare as the SS. Enjoy it!!!

Welcome! Love that color on your M56S and the blue calipers really set it off! I just bought my 2016 Q70L 5.6 back in March and love it! Drove it from St. Louis to Jacksonville back in June and it handled the 14 hour drive very well!
