Hello everyone, id just like to introduce myself. My name is Mike and my company is M2 Motoring. I also am one of the companies that built a versa for sema. There wasn't much time for my company to put the versa togethor (10 days with 2 prior days notice I was even recieving a versa). The car will be completely redone starting next week until the end of the year. With our companies versa we will be building it with a loose interpretation of what japanese VIP is. onec again i say loose interpretation. Be on the look out for a lot more aftermarket parts out there as the car is going from one manufacturer to another for product development. Body kits, exhausts, intakes, suspension, you name it, the car will be the test mule for R&D. I hope to help the versa community by developing aftermarket products and If you have any requests of what you would like to see made for the versa, let me know as I help a lot of companies give input as to what gets developed. Thanks again and im very looking forward to contributing to the nico club community!

Is there anywhere we can see some better pics of your SEMA car? The one you posted here doesn't really show anything other than the modified headlights, and I couldn't find anything about it on your website.

As for what I'm looking for, I'm interested in seeing replacement tail-lights, and better side-mirrors. I've seen 'covers' for the side mirrors that have the led turn signal, but never a replacement mirror yet. Take a look in the sport concept car thread for an example of what some sportier side-mirrors would do for a versa :-)

Hello! unfortunately due to the extremely busy schedule I had been traveling between LA and San Diego everyday for whole week, I forgot my camera when we left for Vegas. On the good note, I will take pictures as soon as the vehicle returns from the transporter. Starting sometime next week it will go in to a couple manufacturers for test fits and measurements for suspension and exhaust parts. My website is currently being finished and will be released in the coming weeks. As far as tailights are concerned, I've spoken with a couple of the more popular companies that produce LED tailights and headlights. They all have already had interest in doing production pieces but could not get them finished as the process is mainly done overseas so it does take time to finish. I will look into and talk to companies as far as mirror replacements are concerned. =)

thank you. The audio system is temporary. Its mainly just a slanted sub box with a beauty board. The new system will be 10X better as now my company and I have time to work on the car and go thru the vehicle with detail. My other company vehicles that were at the show included a camoflage painted scion xB and a rwd tacoma engine yaris. if anything I would like to build the versa to be on the level of my company's other cars if not higher =) thanks again for the kind comments. I hope as the new products are done i will have documented DIY's for everyone as it's one of my goals to help the nissan community =)

sincerely,Mike

I'd like to see some replacement visors with extensions, a console kit that puts cupholders within reach and raises the armrest two inches, custom-fit rubber mats with logo, and a box for the trunk that raises the floor to the level of the folded-down seats.

Doubt any of these things will make your list, but that's all my Versa needs right now.

OH BTW, i want those rear sub box. i was debating on going 8's or 10's subs, and if you can fit 10's in there i might go that route too. :P but i dont want a box that big, it would be slightly smaller. how much room is there left in the sub box?

I am assuming you painted the eyebrows. while at the show i saw all the fits had their headlights painted to the car color, and i am debating about doing that vs going all black out headlight.

as for an optioin for building a box that raise the trunk near the back seat level, i am sure that enough room to pus a single 12 inch sub with some sort of plexi-glass floor sorta of box. >_< man the options you can go.

thank you very much for the kind words. I've been browsing this forum for a while as I am a big k-car fan. My own personal car is a scion xB. The versa captured my interest as its pretty much a nissan Tiida. My biggest worry when i took on this project was that I had much less time than everyone else. Most everyone had a month or so notice at least that they were recieving the vehicle. I had say 2 days before i picked it up. My first thing "to do" on the agenda list is to get my new wheels for the vehicle as well as get some suspension setups manufactured that lower more than 1.5". This is because with the 1.5" drop, the versa doesnt seem to sit low enough. I know with the factory shock there is not much stroke, but with a full coilover setup i see this as a very doable approach. I've already talked to JIC and the versa will be in their possession as soon as they recover from all the sema stuff.

the headlights to me seemed a bit big compared to the rest of the front end and the grill. This was my solution for tying the car in better. =)

rear sub box? the one i had in the versa was simply a regular box that housed 2 10" subs that was mounted on a angle with a beauty board. I might develop a fiberglass sub box that fits into the side area of the compartment of the trunk. as far as subs go, i say go 10's. It mainly about what type of music u listen to. i personally listen to just about everything and 10's have a nice all around sound. Yes the headlights are masked and painted in the picture. I personally wouldnt black out the headlight as that reduces the functionality of the headlight. Also, your local state laws might consider that illegal. back to stereo systems. the versas trunk is actually quite nice. I'm still debating on what kind of stereo system setup I will put into the car. like you said "man the options!" =)

haha i didnt mean black them out. But if you saw most of the Honda fit, the inside of the headlight werent chrome they were paint match to the car. i was debating about unsealing the headlights and repainting the housing Black, but after seeing all the fit with color match headlight i was thinking of painting it the car color.

As for the sub box, i was thinking of using the one that was in the roadhouse versa with the two subs in the wheel weld, but then i was also thinking of raising the trunk 4-6 inches so that the back seat would fold flush with the trunk, and use that 4-6 inch to stick a single 12 right there.

oh lol i should have read it better. actually with the honda fits, the painted innerhousings come like that from the factory. id like to make use of the spare tire well as well for a system, but i learned the hard way that its good to keep the spare tire. my current main project (xB) doesnt have a spare and anytime i have to go anywhere relatively far, i have to bring the spare and put it on the floor behind where i sit. kind of annoying lol

no worries, but looking at those fit, made me want to paint match the housing.

i am sure you can make some sort of box with the wheel still in. And raise the trunk height so that if you ever fold the seat down, it would look more flush like a fit. I am still trying to figureout which route i would go, either raise the floor and get a single sub, or get two sub behind the wheel weld. sigh there are too many option! oh well, now the one thing i need is money!

I'm definately interested in seeing more suspension components. I think the autocross potential would be great with the elec. P/S. Some sway bars, better shocks, stiffer springs and some good rubber would be the perfect place to start. Also I want a billet grill but have yet to find one. I'm waiting for the sport version to come out so I can see what the factory aero will look like. I'm also curious to see what kind of power these transmissions can handle (esp. the CVT). I think a low boost supercharger would be a perfect combo for the cvt(if it can handle the power).

I know DC sports is making an exhaust and strut bars for it, they used my car for the test fit on the prototypes. Eibach also putting there pro-kit springs into production shortly. I'm rocking the prototypes now and I must say it how it should have come from the factory. What a world of difference.

From my knowledge of CVTs, the power it can yield relies on the strength of the belt on the pulleys. Therefore, for the adventurous, ambitious, and arduously working individuals, a stronger belt can be produced to handle such power.

Audi has turbocharged cars with CVT that can yield about 300hp, so making it work in the V is possible, because we know that a CVTs can, independently, hold at least 300hp. Alterations will most probably have to be made, but the only question that stands now is how hard it will be to alter the CVT.

Kind of off topic, but there have been CVT's designed specifically for high horsepower applications in the past.

The Williams Formula One team experimented with CVT transmissions in the early 90's, 93 if I remember correctly, and the Renault engine they were using at the time had in excess of 700hp.

The only things i would like to see are an aftermarket Cruise control system, and an aftermarket armrest (It could "sit" in the 2 rear cup holders). I just use my V for commuting and those 2 things would make the commute a lot better.

an armrest is what i've been looking into also. Since the theme of the build is a loosely based "vip" car, i'm thinking what basic ammenities would be a great addition to the versa and provide more comfort to anyone. I have to contact a friend of mine that had a arm rest made for his xB and the name of the company that makes them. Also, the versa is now in the shop getting the new body kit developed. I will post up some teaser pics soon! =) I hope you guys like it. The kit itself is not particularly VIP, but should look nice with the car.

There's a company called Zeta Products that supposedly has an aftermarket one in very late development. It supposed to be a custom fit console for the V. They should have one that flips up and down and one that's just static. It may be available before the end of the year.

What do you know about adding after market cruise to a Versa S? I took it into a local customizing shop and they think they can do it but I'm not sure I want them cutting wires and fooling around in there only to find out it won't work. What's your opinion? They are a very reputable shop that is used by all the local dealers. It will run me $500.

I think the biggest issue will be warranty issues. If you have any problems with internal wiring or throttle controls, the first thing out of the dealers mouth when he sees the aftermarket cruise is, "Your warranty is void." It's perfectly possible to do an aftermarket job and the parts are everywhere. I would suggest going to a dealer and asking them to put in the factory module. At least this will be something that could be under warranty with the car. If you do go the aftermarket road, make sure you get a really good warranty. It's going to suck if you have some catastrophic failure after a year, but you only had a year warranty. If you have a manual, make sure you get a unit that cancels the cruise when you depress the clutch. This will prevent over revving.
